Student Nutrition Programs across York Region rely on the ongoing support of our volunteers. With your support we have the power to make a positive change in student learning and success. There are many different roles that contribute to the success of Student Nutrition Programs - below are just a few of the ways for you to get involved.

Find a School

If you are interested in volunteering on a regular basis with a school breakfast or snack program, contact your local school’s main office directly. For a list of schools currently running a Student Nutrition Program please visit this page. Please contact the school’s main office to find out if they have volunteer positions available.

Do you have a passion for social media? We are putting a call out for “volunteer ambassadors” to help promote our fundraising efforts. We need your help in sharing information about how our community can support YRFFL to ensure all students across York Region have access to Student Nutrition Programs. York Region Food for Learning is thrilled to be a recipient organization of Bingo World and Gaming - Richmond Hill. If you are interested in assisting with this campaign please fill out this form and our volunteer manager will reach out with additional information.

Don’t have time to volunteer on a regular basis? Don’t let that discourage you from getting involved! Below are some suggestions of ways you can help:

  • Follow us on social media: help promote the Student Nutrition in York Region by following @YRFood4Learning on instagram and encouraging others to do so as well

  • Share our fundraiser: do you know of an organization who is interested in supporting their local community? Consider sharing information about York Region Food for Learning’s fundraising efforts for their consideration

  • Get creative: we’d love to showcase what Student Nutrition Programs mean to you. Send us your social media posts, artwork or videos to help us promote our programs.
